BBC Online -Ancient History - yet again a great site from the BBC. "From the death cults of Egypt to the fearsome yet sophisticated society of the Vikings, the ancient world was a surprising and challenging place."

About Ancient History - About.com’s ancient history portal is a good starting point for young scholars looking to learn more about the history of Greece and Rome. Topic areas covered include: Studying Ancient History; Myth & Beliefs; Latin & Ancient Writing; People and Places; Homer / Troy / Odyssey; Art and Archaeology; Politics; Science / Math / Medicine; Warfare / Violence and Way of Life in Antiquity.

National Geographic - Hstory - National Geographic’s history website is typically rich in images (and info) including video. If Indiana Jones is your child’s entry into the ancients – this site has a great feature – an A-Z of ancient mysteries giving a clear overview of their known history.

Univeristy of Evansville - Exploring World Cultures - This site is an introduction to exploring ancient world cultures on the web and features a lot of extracts from primary sources such as the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Art of War.

The History Guide - Resources for Historians - Must see site for budding historians, a complete list of web sources for all periods. A wonderful labyrinth of information and websites. Could take you days to come out!
